Burn-in
Before first use, the pan must be seasoned to activate its natural non-stick properties:
- Clean the pan with hot water and a brush (no soap).
- Dry thoroughly with paper towels.
- Pour a thin layer of (sunflower) oil into the pan and heat until it starts to smoke.
- Pour out the oil and wipe the pan clean.
- Repeat if necessary. The pan will develop a dark patina – this is a good thing! The blacker the patina, the better the non-stick coating.
Tip: Cook only meat the first few times to enhance the patina. Be careful with acidic ingredients like tomatoes and lemon, as they can damage the patina. Afterward, it's important to season the pan again with a little oil.
Cleaning
- After use, wash the pan with hot water and a brush. Do not use dish soap and definitely do not put it in the dishwasher.
- Dry immediately to prevent rust. Food residue? Soak briefly or remove with a sponge.
