About Miyabi

Shokunin – craftsmanship at the highest level. MIYABI employees follow the Japanese shokunin principle, which means that they constantly strive to improve and perfect their craft. This philosophy translates into the greatest care for the smallest details. We apply this in our production process, including the honbazuke grinding technique, where centuries-old knowledge and technical expertise come together.

The best of both worlds. Since the 14th century, Seki has been known for high-quality Japanese knives, and to this day, all MIYABI knives are made there. This picturesque village in Gifu Prefecture, a symbol of craftsmanship, is the birthplace of many legendary knives. The deep-rooted drive for perfection has been alive here for centuries. However, MIYABI goes further by combining Japanese traditions with German innovations.
